ERP Modernization Leadership

ERP Modernization · Reporting · Integration
I'm Sean McNeeley, a higher education ERP modernization consultant working across Ellucian Banner, Colleague, Oracle, and cloud platforms — leading SaaS migrations, data conversion, custom reporting, and systems integration for institutions modernizing their technology stack.
What I do
Leading large, ambiguous change efforts is where I do my best work. I've directed multi-year, multimillion-dollar ERP implementations for some of higher education's most complex clients.
I've moved customers onto Ellucian Banner and Colleague — on-premise, Managed Cloud, and SaaS — and understand the data conversion, timing, and sequencing each path requires.
I lead the teams that build what sits on top of the ERP: custom reporting that turns raw data into decision-ready reports, and integrations that connect systems that don't talk to each other today.
Platform depth
I've installed Banner, stood up application servers on Oracle and Tomcat, debugged job submission failures, configured Banner Security, and diagnosed more misconfigured environments than I can count. I apply Banner upgrades manually and through Ellucian Solution Manager — which I've also installed — and I've built sales demonstrations and workshops around the Extensibility Tools: Page Builder, Ellucian Workflow, Theme Editor, and Admin Pages/Eclipse. In almost 25 years of Banner work, the last 19 with Ellucian, there are very few parts of a customer's Banner environment I haven't touched. More recently, that platform depth has extended to Ellucian Colleague, leading a team through integration work on a Colleague SaaS migration.
OCP Developer 9i reflects deep knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle Forms and Reports.
Over ten years of hands-on Banner Oracle DBA work across most major operating systems.
Current certifications
Cloud migrations are part of every ERP modernization story now, and these certifications back that work with formal AWS training.
Validates the design of cost- and performance-optimized solutions using the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
Confirms a foundational, high-level understanding of AWS Cloud services and terminology.
Team leadership
Recent work has shifted from individual technical delivery to leading the remote teams that provide it — both a reporting practice built from the ground up and an integration effort supporting a platform migration.
Started and led a remote Custom Report Development team for Student First client engagements. Mentored a group of primarily early-career developers with no prior higher education or professional technical experience, and built the process framework the team followed — report development standards, and prioritization both within individual client engagements and across the full portfolio.
Led a remote integration team supporting an Ellucian Colleague SaaS migration, connecting surrounding systems as part of the broader implementation.
Technical delivery
Across nearly two decades with Ellucian, the core of the work was hands-on technical delivery — leading ERP implementations for higher education clients from the ground up.
Led ERP implementation and technical delivery across higher education client engagements — technical project leadership, data conversion, custom reporting, and systems integration. Managed client expectations and project status tracking throughout multi-year implementations, mentored client teams, and handled the database administration work behind it all.
Beyond the technical work
Technical delivery sits alongside broader experience in pre-sales, product ownership, public speaking, and contract advisory — work that applies well beyond any single ERP platform.
On the Cloud Solutions Consulting team, I built presentations and demonstrations showing how Extensibility could meet — or exceed — a customer's need for custom functionality.
I've presented to hundreds at U.S. eLive events and traveled to more than 15 countries for World Tour events, running Banner 9 technical workshops and supporting customers on the ground.
As Senior Product Manager, I owned the definition, development, and delivery of Ellucian's Banner SaaS data conversion tooling, the Banner CTOOL, and the Banner SaaS Readiness Discovery tooling.
Experienced at drafting and revising Statements of Work to fit a project or customer's specific needs, and at reviewing and redlining engagement contracts — ensuring a SOW or agreement actually delivers what's tactically needed.
“As a Technical Architect, I have always been impressed with Sean's ability to understand all complexities within a project and coordinate work between departments to make sure client implementations were successful.”
